Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä (/mpʰɒ́/ /zɑ̋iː/ [thin (slender); slim] [snack]) is a subtropical Small Town located in the Īchnḱyǐyátzmb̪v Region of the Confederation of Goblin Tribes.

The name Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä is derived from the Goblin language, as Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä was founded by Mp̪v Joīnḱ 'Lena Olivia' Cú̄s Yoī̌sh Dāshvōy Ca̋chīy Ya̋ń̄kī, who was culturaly Goblin.

Overview

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä was founded durring the late 11th century, by Mp̪v Joīnḱ 'Lena Olivia' Cú̄s Yoī̌sh Dāshvōy Ca̋chīy Ya̋ń̄kī. The establishment of Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of restrictive paverstone streets which form octogonal paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä's somewhat suffishent are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. The locals seem to have responded to their slow downfall by recreating Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä as one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which the town brings to mind.

Civic Infrastructure

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.

In Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä all of the cats speak the local language with prefect diction.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves performance art to channel Necromancy energies of tier 3 via oath swearing.

Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä's roads were poorly made when first laid. Rather than repairing them correctly, a series of new roads was laid atop the old, leading to the streets of modern Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä suffering from potholes, cracking, and even sinkholes. The locals often repair the road by putting down wooden decking.

History

Almost every community has some problem with bandits and highwaymen, but Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä is seriously plagued with raiders. One or more groups of persistent plunderers are hitting the community repeatedly, and they lack the necessary resources to fend them off or protect all their holdings.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century was struck by a great wind storm. A great funnel cloud itself touched down in Joi̋tḩ Za̋y Kēä, bringing twisting winds which killed 216 people, 108 livestock, and 20 buildings in the disaster.. The disaster is generally remembered as the Howling Winds of Dread.

History
